Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Inc. (BA) undertook a major remodeling project, updating the twenty-year-old Concourse E at Miami International Airport while allowing uninterrupted service during the entire process. The design included a 10-gate facility with wide-body aircraft capabilities, expansion of ground-level operations, and the addition of 10,000 square feet of office space.
The international facility offers segregated arrival and departure areas using a circulating corridor which allows arriving passengers to move directly to the third door (Immigration) through a glass corridor or remain on the second door (Domestic). The new second level for departing passengers features large expanses of glass oriented to views of aircraft and the Florida sky.
