Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Inc. (BA) provided the designs necessary to correct insuffcient lighting, dated finishes, aging equipment, and a malfunctioning air conditioning and ventilation system. BA’s design solutions emphasized brighter and more durable low maintenance materials, increased light levels, articulated ceilings, and new equipment. New finishes were provided throughout two terminals and three concourses. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades were added in restrooms, telephones, stairs, drinking fountains, re alarm systems, and signage.
More legible Electronic Visual Information Displays (EVIDS) and Flight Information Displays (FIDS) helped alleviate passenger confusion. Security checkpoints were redesigned to create more effective barriers between concourses. Telecommunication rooms were provided for security data distribution.
