The Shelborne Hotel located on 1801 Collins Ave, Miami Beach was built in 1940, with an addition constructed in 1958. The Hotel is now looking to refresh its image while keeping the essence and overall Miami Beach vibe. This project consisted of a partial and complete demolition of all public areas and its 341 condo/hotel guestrooms in order to accommodate new amenities and improve the existing ones by redesigning over 200,000 sq.ft of area of the building’s interior and exterior.
BA was hired as the architect of record and worked together with Kelly Wearstler Interior Design along with other disciplines to make this a reality. From Historic Presentation Board meetings and multiple coordination site meetings with owners, the project is currently undergoing its last phase of re-permit approvals with all of them already pre-approved. Construction is expected to take place at the end of this month.
By virtue of its amenities, the Shelborne Hotel will now be able to provide guests with a thoughtful mix of contemporary and vintage experiences.
