Mark leads the Ports & Maritime Group and has worked with ports and destinations worldwide for more than 30 years (22 with BA) and extensive destination planning and shore excursion program management experience from his tenure with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises (11 years). He is recognized as an expert on cruise market assessments, cruise tourism destination planning, strategic master plan development and cruise facility planning.
BA worked with the MOS to provide a strategy to operate their waterfront as the existing lease ends in 2023. BA produced 20-year cruise passenger and commodities forecasts; assembled a Financial Plan; and provided a strategic plan to move the MOS toward its goals and objectives.
BA developed a cruise/ferry facility master plan for the Port of St. Petersburg. The project reclaimed 450-hectares of the Baltic including a 20-acre port facility that opened in 2008. BA conducted a cruise market analysis, mixed-use commercial center retail analysis, economic impact assessment, overall master planning, business planning, and strategic development.
BA updated the Broward County Port Everglades Master/Vision Plan including the development of financial and market forecasts, review of the 2014 Master/Vision Plan, vision planning for cruise, cargo and commercial on and off port options, community outreach, Capital Improvements Plan budget and 20-year port infrastructure plan.
