Luis Sousa, RA, NCARB, RID, is the Director of Healthcare Planning and Design at BA, where he leads the Healthcare Studio. With over 30 years of experience in architectural design, project management, and client relations, Luis has dedicated his career to the healthcare industry, specializing in creating environments that foster health, healing, wellness, and research. He has spearheaded some of the largest and most complex healthcare projects in the Southeast, including notable work for Baptist Health South Florida, and has received awards for projects both in the US and abroad. His strength lies in his deep understanding of the entire design process, from site assessments and development strategies to post-design evaluations. Luis has built BA Health into a leading studio by strategically organizing a team to support clients beyond the initial concept, ensuring a collaborative and client-focused design approach that enhances patient well-being and creates impactful healing environments.
