Joshua Rak is an urban designer and planner with extensive experience in the creation of master plans, urban design details and zoning ordinances, most specifically Form Based Codes. With over 10 years of experience and a strong multidisciplinary background rooted in urban design, planning, architecture and business, Mr. Rak brings
a rationally-based, design driven perspective to the preparation of area plans with aspecial emphasis on place making through design and the implementation of Form Based Codes. Mr. Rak’s strengths lie in his thorough understanding of good urban design practices and architectural design, with substantive knowledge and experience in the formulation of the regulatory needs to implement them.
B&A produced the Village of Palmetto Bay Downtown Master Plan, as the culmination of an extensive public outreach campaign to engage locals, residents, and stakeholders, establish a consensus and craft the master plan vision for a new Downtown area.
B&A was commissioned to update the design and master plan for this major resort in the north coast of Egypt. Updated services include: marina design, berth reconfiguration, dredging plan, location of marina services fuel, dockmaster, and marina landside utilities location including service towers, railings, and emergency equipment.
B&A prepared a master plan for Port Tampa Bay to develop 45-acres in a waterfront area called the Channel District. To drive the development and ensure consistency with the Master Plan, the creation and calibration of Form-Based Regulations are currently underway, by B&A. These mandate the improved street and open space network, permitted architecture and frontage typologies, in addition to the densities and intensities of development, consistent with the existing Channel District regulations, as adopted by the City of Tampa, but further regulating the public realm within Port Tampa Bay-owned properties to be developed in the future.
