Jose Lugo has more than 25 years of experience in all facets of architectural design. He has been responsible for leading teams of planners, architects, engineers, subject matter experts, and creative and business development professionals to deliver experiences and designs for entertainment complexes and related facilities. Mr. Lugo has also taken the role of Design Manager/ Architect of Record to provide professional and technical design services including architecture, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering, CADD operations, quality control, scheduling, construction inspection, certified building inspection, and support functions on multiple projects in different practice areas.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Universal Studios CityWalk, Orlando Florida - Project Architect
Project Architect located on site throughout the entire process from the early design phases through project completion. During the design phase, was the lead architect for Life Safety design related to all interior and exterior stair systems. Additionally, provided a multitude of detail solutions and calculations from the NASCAR Café curved roof Structure, the water feature in the plaza, Lombard Street, Retaining structures, Curved Trellis Structure, and the Margaritaville ceiling and roof structure. During construction, remained on site to facilitate the construction process by providing design solutions until project completion.
IBM Innovations at EPCOT, Orlando, Florida - Lead Project Architect.
Lead Project Architect responsible for the design and construction documentation for the training facilities & conference room. The training facility included state-of-art equipment showcasing the future of technology and lighting. The training facility included support spaces such as concessions and server rooms all equally innovative as the equipment being showcased.
China Pavilion at EPCOT, Orlando, Florida - Lead Project Architect.
Lead Project Architect, led the design efforts for the expansion and renovation of the back of house support facilities for the China Pavilion. The renovation included new managerial offices, warehouse storage, and server rooms for the upgraded POS systems in efforts to improve workflow and increase efficiency.
Rainforest Café at Disney Animal Kingdom, Orlando, Florida - Lead Project Architect.
Lead Project Architect for the renovation and the demolition of the water fall feature. The original design of the rainforest café included a waterfall feature flowing from the roof top. Provided the solutions and detailing for removing the waterfall structural system penetrating the building envelope to insure a watertight envelope remained.
