Mr. Lopez has more than 33 years of experience in civil engineering, project and contract management; permitting, stormwater management, planning, and flood control; water supply; watershed management; operation and maintenance; and Everglades restoration. In the past, he worked as a VP of Engineering in the design and manufacturing of wastewater treatment plants, at the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) as a lead project/water resources manager.
BA was selected to deliver a wide range of professional port planning, transportation, economic analysis, policy, grant and project proposal development services for the Port of Tampa Bay.
Mr. Lopez is responsible for the engineering and QA/QC for the utility design including water main, force main, package wastewater treatment with odor control and sludge filter press, and pump station design, drainage, solid waste facilities including incinerator and glass crasher for a 95-acre private destination island in Bahamas for MSC Cruises.
Responsible for managing a corrosion control study including coordination of sampling and analysis of water quality conditions in Port Everglades, water distribution pipe network, the review and monitor of a hydraulic model of the Port water pipe network to determine possible locations of stagnant water within the water system and prepare a report and Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for corrosion control operational changes and treatment improvements to reduce water corrosion potential with an opinion of cost for the improvements that are evaluated. Mr. Lopez was also a team member responsible to coordinate with the Health Department request to be in compliance as required by EPA regulations.
