Felipe has over 40 years of experience in several different architecture disciplines. He possesses a rare combination of experience in planning, architecture, and landscape architecture blending design skills with a strong construction & technical background. Felipe specializes in waterfront and port facility design.
BA developed a maritime waterfront property design for the Port of Seattle including the preparation of general site plans for a new cruise terminal, and work with the port’s consultants in coordinating surrounding land use issues, determination of needed or desired capital facility improvements and to provide recommendations and related details surrounding cruise expansion alternatives.
BA uses one of the most advanced proprietary simulation modelling tools for managing growth, optimizing use of existing facilities, and design or planning of terminal facilities and other spaces where people of other entities (customers) flow through several points while receiving various types of services. BA uses the tool to evaluate designs or develop the specifications (design criteria / Key Performance Indicators) for the design of facilities. BA has used the tool for designs of Cruise Terminals A & B (PortMiami), Galveston Wharves Cruise Terminal 10, Marina Bay Cruise Centre, Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, Terminal 18 - Port Everglades, Brooklyn Pier 12 and Manhattan Terminal 88 and 90, amongst others. BA provides measures of dynamic performance, such as waiting (queuing) times, utilization of facilities, spatial requirements, economic impacts and identifies facility dynamic variables such as waiting times, length of queues and spatial density.
BA, in conjunction with a Tampa based Team, prepared a Master Plan of the Tampa Port Authority’s Waterfront Properties in the Channelside District to maximize Port Tampa Bay land utilization in the context of creating an active and commercially successful waterfront in consonance with cruise and other waterborne transportation activities while creating value for both the Port and community.
