PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Port of Galveston Strategic Master Plan, Galveston, Texas - Architect

The Port of Galveston Strategic Master Plan identified, examined, and positioned the Port for growth and expansion for the next 5 to 40 years, through the development of principles and identification of key strategies that will guide future development at the Port. Services provided by BA included: infrastructure assessment, financial and market forecasts and conditions, community outreach/evaluation of community uses, real estate uses and community integration aspects of the Port, professional planning services, civil, structural, and mechanical and electrical engineering services, architectural services and environmental services.

Element Hotel Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Florida - Project Director

BA prepared schematic design plans for the 8-story, 130 room hotel in Melbourne Beach for Driftwood Acquisitions. The first Marriott-branded hotel in Melbourne Beach was built on the 2.56- acre site of a former parking lot, adjacent to The Crowne Plaza. The BA team prepared the design and construction drawings for the hotel.

Nassau Cruise Port and Related Facilities, New Providence, The Bahamas - Director of Architecture.

In an effort to upgrade and revitalize the Downtown Nassau waterfront and cruise facilities, the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas redeveloped and privatized the operation of the cruise port terminal at Prince George Wharf at the Port of Nassau. BA’s design for the cruise terminal featured a completely transformed Port and Welcome Center, additional mega berths to accommodate the largest cruise ships in the world, a state-of-the-art open air amphitheater to host local and international acts, a new Junkaroo Museum featuring cultural and historical heritage of Nassau, and several waterfront restaurants surrounding a new marina. In addition, to encourage local vendor participation, 30 new state-of-the-art vendor pavilions are available to local businesses to display and sell locally produced merchandise to visitors. BA’s design provided for the redevelopment of the local retail area and open space areas to better accommodate visiting cruise ship passengers. The BA Team met with local authorities, businesses and residents to develop a comprehensive master plan to meet the future needs of Nassau and the growing cruise industry.

Doral Central Park, Doral Florida - Project Director

The City of Doral awarded BA this project to design a series of world-class amenities including a state-of-the-art recreation center, competition, and recreational aquatics center, amphitheater, sensory playground, nature area, ball fields, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, lake activities, skate park and pump track, parking, and a wide range of dynamic active and passive open spaces that encompasses 77 acres.
