The School of Nursing plays an active role in healthcare for South Florida in concert with Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics. The 54,000 SF building provides space for classrooms, labs, faculty offices, seminars and conferences. Bermello Ajamil & Partners designed the building to promote interaction between students and faculty. The relationship of faculty offices to classrooms promotes communication between professors, administration, and students.
The four-story facility is clad in stuccos with varying textures to define various internal activities and create a rhythm to the exterior of the building. Faculty members can take advantage of natural light in with common areas between offices and meeting areas at the end of each wing.
