BA’s Interior Design Team slays at IIDA’s Design Mix 2022

BA Culture / Events

Congratulations to our Interior Design Team who won the award for Most Creative at this year’s IIDA Design Mix competition. This year’s theme focused on Florida during the 1990s and contestants were to use textiles and other materials to create costumes that celebrated some aspect or event of the decade.

Our design entry, modeled here by our very own Jissette Jimenez, was inspired by 1992’s Hurricane Andrew, one of the most consequential and life-altering events in South Florida.

Our Team accepting their award with some of our suppliers who provided the materials for the costume.

Boukman Mangones, Thais Mathias Dunn, Caridad Sola of NCL, and Carolina Coto.

NCL’s Terminal B is recognized for Earth Day!

BA Culture / Events

In celebration of Earth Day, a special plaque presentation and panel discussion was held to commemorate our very own Terminal B, the first cruise terminal in the world to receive the prestigious LEED® Gold v4 accreditation. This achievement was celebrated alongside our local South Florida community members, partners and vendors who made this recognition possible. During the special program, experts and leaders discussed how the 188,000-square-foot terminal, designed by BA, was achieved with innovation and sustainability at the forefront. What a way to celebrate Mother Earth on her special day!

Partner & SVP, Tere Garcia is recognized for her role as MDX Spox

BA Culture / Stories

Our Partner, Senior Vice President & Director of Public Involvement and Business Development, Tere Garcia, was recognized recently in a feature story in Calle Ocho News, a South Florida publication. The article focused on her years serving as the spokesperson of the Miami Dade Expressway Authority), a user-funded transportation agency dedicated to improving mobility and the economy in South Florida. Tere was responsible for communicating the agency’s goals and objectives to the community, press and government officials.

Incidentally, the article also mentioned Lilliam M. Lopez, President & CEO of the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the incredible work the chamber has done over the decades. Lilliam happens to be BA Partner Alfredo Sanchez’s wife.

New HQ Construction Updates!

June 6, 2022
This week, work crews will be finishing the drywall and paint, millwork for the workroom, print room and soffit for the new BA Miami headquarters in Coral Gables. The much-anticipated building signage should be installed and then work will begin on the flooring. Our name is already displayed in the parking garage and on the entrance doors leading to the office from the garage. Plumbing, electrical and A/C work will continue in preparation for final inspection later this month. Here are some construction photos from mid May.

Pop the champagne…we’ve got a building sign! Apart from our building sign, painting continues with almost all walls now painted. Electrical work in the conference rooms has been completed. The floor is being polished and the rush is on to get that completed before the new furniture starts to arrive in about a week or two. Making progress!
