Project Manager – Ports and Marine Engineering

BA has an immediate position available at its Miami headquarters office for a Ports and Marine Engineering Project Manager with the ability to provide technical and management leadership to multiple marine and waterfront projects. This individual will manage a team of multi-disciplinary members of architects, engineers, and planners and will work on port projects spanning the globe. General duties include management of various project discipline leads, design and preparation of construction documents, providing project leadership and communicating with clients and colleagues, and supporting the Director of Marine and Port Engineering in business development tasks.   • Reviews complete projects for quality and conformity, and approves work performed by other engineers.
  • Independently applies extensive and diversified theoretical principles in the field of marine engineering.
  • Assists upper-level management as a technical specialist, advisor, or expert.
  • Supervises all necessary staff to complete assignments.
  • Creates and approves scope, budgets and schedules for projects or assignments.
  • Prepares proposals and collaborates with the marketing team.
  • Represents the company in communications, client meetings, in public functions, and conferences.
  • Has signing and sealing authority when assigned by management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Coastal Engineering. Master’s preferred;
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation and have qualifications in place to apply for license in Florida and New York;
  • 8+ years of marine engineering design experience;
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, L-Pile, PYWALL or equivalent software experience;
  • Able to work on and lead major projects or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Capable of applying advanced engineering techniques related to the practice of marine engineering
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills;
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

State of Florida Building Plans Examiner and Inspector (Licensed)

  • Must have State of Florida Building Plans Examiner Certification and/or Architectural License
  • Must have State of Florida Building Inspector Certification and/or Architectural License
  • Must have own vehicle
  • Hours/Work Schedule – Monday through Friday (part-time)
  • Conduct building code plans examinations and inspections for various Miami Dade County School projects.
  • Knowledge of:

    • Florida Building Code
    • FFPC Life Safety Code
    • Strong Structural and Building Background a plus
    • SREF (Chapter 4 Section 453 of FBC)
  • College degree in construction related field or certification

    • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the construction field.
    • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar position.
