Architect & Project Manager

OVERVIEW

Bermello Ajamil, a Woolpert Company (BA) has an immediate position available in its Orlando office for a full-time Architect & Project Manager (10+ years of experience) that is looking to join a creative, collaborative team of Architects, Engineers, Planners, Interior Designers, and Landscape Architects.

JOB OVERVIEW

Provide overall management direction for existing or new projects and supervise team members. Establish project budget, objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy. Initiate and maintain liaison with client and A/E contracts to facilitate construction activities. Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Construction Manager to ensure project is built on time and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. Represent BA in project meetings and assist in strategy meetings, etc. Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect BA’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client.

  • Direct project team, ensure client compliance with contract terms, and monitor sub-consultants’ compliance with contractual commitments.
  • Meet with clients to direct project requirements and obtain all information to prepare project documents.
  • Has primary responsibility for scheduling, planning, design, specification, and working drawings on a given project with authority to direct, control, organize, interpret, and monitor all activities.
  • Prepare project work plan, schedule and budget, and communicate these to project team members; monitor/manage project production for compliance with schedule, budget and quality objectives.
  • Monitor reports and schedules to ensure appropriate charging of man-hours, costs and expenses to projects, and to communicate project progress/status to senior management.
  • Monitor sub-consultants’ progress and performance; review and approve sub-consultant and vendor invoices.
  • Schedule and coordinate project meetings with the project team, regulatory agencies, the client, and others involved with the project
  • Coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promote firm’s capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients
  • Supervise technical professionals and design staff.
  • Must have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture; Master’s Degree a plus
  • Must have Architectural or NCARB registration (preferably Florida, or the ability to obtain Florida registration quickly).
  • 10+ years of experience inĀ ArchitecturalĀ project management
  • LEED accreditation preferred
  • Must be proficient inĀ Revit,Ā AutoCAD,Ā Sketchup 5+ years
  • Advanced-level competency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects within established budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead others by example
  • Proven ability to present to clients and assist in marketing interviews
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and work independently and as part of a team
  • Available for limited travel, overtime, and weekend work as required to meet training and project requirements/deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, graphic skills, and design ability
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus

Architectural Designer – Healthcare

OVERVIEW

Bermello Ajamil, a Woolpert Company (BA) is currently accepting applications for an Architectural Designer with Healthcare design experience to join the Healthcare team in its Coral Gables office. The ideal candidate has 8-10+ years of experience in Healthcare and related facilities, and is able to apply architectural principles to buildings/structures and their components or assemblies.

  • Perform work on all phases of various architectural projects including design development, preparation of presentation drawings and specifications, design review, coordination and correlation of construction drawings.
  • Prepare schematics, design development and construction documents. Develop, modify and review production drawings and edit project narratives and specifications.
  • Research materials to determine appropriate selection for project.
  • Plan, coordinate and administer projects from the initial programming stages all the way through to construction administration.
  • Review construction submittals and assist project manager in construction administration.
  • Analyze client problems and develop architectural solutions to those problems.
  • 5 year Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • 8-10 years of job-related experience.
  • Healthcare facilities design experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD, REVIT Sketchup, PhotoShop software.
  • Ability to interact professionally and comfortably with a variety personalities and communication styles and build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships.
  • LEED certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Time management skills.

Project Manager – Ports & Maritime Engineering (Hybrid)

BERMELLO AJAMIL & PARTNERS, a Woolpert Company (BA) is looking for full-time Project Manager for its Ports & Maritime Engineering team for our Coral Gables, FL office who is looking to join a creative and collaborative team. The Ports and Marine Engineering Project Manager will play a pivotal role in providing both technical and managerial leadership across a diverse range of marine and waterfront projects. This individual will spearhead a multidisciplinary team comprising architects, engineers, and planners, focusing on projects that include the design, development, and enhancement of piers, marinas, waterfronts, and related coastal infrastructure worldwide. The core responsibilities encompass managing various project discipline leads, overseeing the design and preparation of construction documents, offering project leadership, facilitating communication with clients and colleagues, and supporting the Director of Marine and Port Engineering in expanding the business.

RESPONSABILITIES

This role is specifically tailored for a marine engineer with a background in structural and/or geotechnical engineering, possessing firsthand experience in designing civil infrastructure in nearshore environments. It is important to note that this position is not suitable for naval architects, stevedores, or professionals specialized in vessel engineering or construction trades.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Coastal Engineering. Master’s preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation and have qualifications in place to apply for license in Florida and New York.
  • 8+ years of marine engineering design experience.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, SAP2000, L-Pile or equivalent software experience.
  • Able to work on and lead major projects or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Capable of applying advanced engineering techniques related to the practice of marine engineering.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • 5 year Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • 8-10 years of job-related experience.
  • Healthcare facilities design experience required.
