The World Association for Waterborne Transportation Infrastructure (PIANC) is hosting their first ever conference in the Western Hemisphere. This global organization offers guidance and technical advice for sustainable waterborne transport infrastructure to ports, marinas, and waterways. PIANC America 2023 will feature technical specialists, such as BA Engineer Servando Garcia Fluxa who will present on Shore Power Readiness and Dr. Orrin Lancaster who will present on Scour Protection.
BA’s Director of Ports and Marine Engineering Daniel Ramos is looking forward to the PIANC America conference and BA supporting this important event as a Silver Sponsor. This event will spearhead efforts to foster more collaboration between North America, South America, and the Caribbean countries in support of stronger waterborne transportation systems.

Galveston’s fourth cruise terminal on track for autumn opening
Port of Galveston’s fourth cruise terminal is on track to open as scheduled this fall, according to CEO/Port Director Rodger Rees. The $156m Terminal 16 facility is to be ready for MSC Cruises’ inaugurating service from Texas with MSC Seascape in November. The terminal will also handle Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings ships.

BA’s scope of work which concluded in mid-2022 included architectural design, construction documentation, and construction administration services for the selective demolition and renovation of existing components of the Centereach Public Library, and the addition of two smaller buildings to support required alterations.
